Occultic;Nine (2016) anime review

e652c6a7de983d6b81c2ba7af45b04531475920888_fullA blog disproving the supernatural becomes the catalyst to bringing a group of people who seemingly have nothing to do with each other together. The blog is run by NEET teenager Yuuta Gamon and his friend Ryouka Narusawa. This group will face several intertwining mysteries involving the supernatural, each leading towards the same truth. This is an often confusing anime about a group of people who come face to face with the supernatural world.

Screenshot (193)One of the biggest complaints I see about Occultic;Nine is its pacing. The biggest example people give is how the characters talk really fast. The thing is that if you look at each episode individually not much actually happens per episode, at least not a whole lot that you’d notice during your first watching. Of course the series does get confusing at times, especially with all the strange and bizarre camera angles, but that is what I like best about it. I like series that are smart with complex plot lines.

Screenshot (195)I recommend this to anyone who likes confusing plotlines and to anyone who enjoys watching supernatural thrillers. This is a good series to binge watch. If you want to watch it you can find it on CrunchyRoll.

Final Rating – 41/50
