The whole world is seen in her eyes.
In eyes that have much to see,
Yet have shown so much emotion
And thorough disappointment
That they know of more than is seen outside.
They have seen dreams broken,
Hopes lost on the ashes in the wind,
Happiness shattered like a mirror.
They wish for only good to come,
But know inside that it will never come.
They have unknown potential
That is hidden away by life and society
To never open to the harm that has been done.
And yet the whole world is seen in her eyes
In the eyes that have seen only pain
And oppression in the world to that point.
They are closed due to nurture not nature.
They can open, and will someday,
And until then the world is invisible to us.
