Sunset Before Night

In a golden sky the clouds all glow

in many shades of orange and pink

when the sun hides behind the far horizon.

The moon rises, the sun sinks, the sky dims.

The sky which once was golden is no more

and is replaced by a star filled darkness.

The stars, windows to a light filled world

Full of beauty, power, and might

Where the shadows do not exist but in the void.

In the morning the stars are replaced by the sun

And the sky again becomes a golden sky

Only to turn blue shortly after sunrise.
