The Beast

Be careful!

They say a beast roams these woods.

With teeth resembling daggers,

dripping drool from its hungry mouth.

With sharp eyes filled with anger

despite there nothing for it to be mad at.

It’s fur is said to be mangled and thin

covering its body with many dark spots.

It’s ears twitch at every slight noise

and its tail wags in anticipation of the chase.

They say that no one quite knows why

this beast is even in the woods

but some say it is a resurrected spirit

seeking vengeance after death.

Others claim that it is merely

a tortured animal

that doesn’t know how to be a kind beast.

But what everyone seems to agree on

is that this is a beast to be feared.

So be careful

as you venture out into these woods alone.
