Unstoppable

As I walk down the sidewalk

the wind buffets me from all angles.

I wish I didn’t have to be out here

as my hair blows all around

and my clothing poofs up.

I feel unstoppable

though that is not how I think.

How can I be unstoppable

if I can be hurt by little things?

A single look. A shy smile.

Feet walking away at great speed,

walking away from me.

Yet out here in the wind

I feel unstoppable because

though my paces may slow

as the wind pushes me back

I keep on walking towards

where I must go without fear.
